Site Improvements

One of the Questions Commissioners get a lot is what is a site improvement? Well here are a few examples:
Our Site 5, benches courtesy of troop 1532 and the firepit was built by troop 451

Site 5 again

Site 13 made a little memorial

Troop 1378 was kind enough to make a sign to help other Troops figure out which site is which!

As you can see some of the improvements are permanent, but some such as the memorial are taken down. Some troops build weather rocks, fix up the site boards, rake up leaves, set up their own trash and recycling tripods, or build Gateways into their site. Others (with permission) have helped clear paths around their site.  One Rule we do have about the improvements is that there has to be a new one each day! Points are given depending on how many or how complicated the improvement is.

  1. Glad to see you taking pride in this wonderful camp site! With Summer camp in full swing, and many little ones returning home from camp on coach buses, I'd like to put a bug in parents' ears about bus safety. It's unfortunate that many of these buses are not equipped with safety belts, but there is a life-saving product that could change all of this very soon. SafeHarness is a portable safety belt designed to snap over the seats of coach and travel buses, making safety accessible to bus riders wherever they go. The makers of this product need as much help as they can get right now spreading the word, so please, if you have a minute or two, visit the link to their fundraiser below and share it with everyone you know. Thanks so much in advance for making bus safety an option for all! http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/safeharness-personal-portable-seatbelts-for-coach-buses
